When you touched me, there were no surges of electricity, no bouts of tingling sensations; I could have easily mistaken it for my own embrace. We were undeniably one.
It would indeed be an understatement to call you a missing piece in my puzzle. From my reawakened perspective, you were the perplexing puzzle itself. The entire picture is all but incomplete. However, as we put the pieces together -- hands interlinked -- it becomes clearer who you are to me.
Just as the most renowned pieces of art in this overtly scrutinizing world are often abstract, our enduring, almost natural instinct to choose each other in times of crisis and ecstacy can be moulded into an emblematic sculpture. So let me assure you: It's not my vision that is blurred, it is the vague existence you were when you first embarked into my solace life. As the waves of time passed, the ambiguity turned into familiarity and a stranger turned into family.
Unlike the extravaganza unfolding on the screens and pages of times begone, we are not anything romanticized like each other's halves. Pardon our modesty for we are the bricks and stones of our home. The unspoken moments echo the loudest within my memory. The unseen sights visualise most vividly in the recesses of my mind. The unheard poetry weaves itself in every nook and corner of my skin and bones. There is no exaggeration in our declaration of love, for it is simplistic in its portrayal.
The first time you touched me, I didn't ascend to heaven. The wonders of a heavenly embrace, well, everyone seems to have felt it in some mere infatuated romance. What one may not even come close to comprehend is the wonder of an earthly embrace. Down-to-earth can never be casually encountered up above in the clouds. The authentic empathy coalesced with the genuine sincerity finds itself in the arms of a grounded entity. What you gave me was more than a saviour's hand, you infused life into my half-dead attempts of hanging on. The first touch was impeccably and indescribably yours.

- Comment from author about the poem: The first touch is special✨ It could be anything— holding hands or hugging someone you like for the first time🫂 Meaning of the prose poem💝 When you touch “the one”, I doubt that anyone would actually feel butterflies in their stomach or electricity in their veins. Don’t mistake it for indifference. It’s like they’re a part of you and now, everything is at its rightful place. They’re not merely a piece of the puzzle of your life; they are the puzzle that you are trying to figure out. Together💕Like any abstract work of art, both of you are also a sculpture i.e. the fruit of your passion and choice to stick together during the good times and the bad. The vagueness of their presence in your life grew into familiarity as they turned into family🥰 They’re not your “other half” because that would only mean that you by yourself aren’t complete. All those great movies and novels could be wrong. A lover is nothing if not a home to his beloved🏡The moments where you understand each other’s thoughts without uttering a word, the sight of them looking at you with warmth even when your eyes are closed and the poetry they don’t speak burn into your memory❤️🔥Love isn’t exaggerated, it’s simple. You don’t feel like you’ve been to heaven when you’ve been touched by them. Any person could say otherwise. It wouldn’t hold much meaning that way🤷🏻♀️You need someone who is down-to-earth and grounded in the way that they love you. Only then would they truly empathise and relate to your emotions. They would bring you back to life and make you live, not haphazardly this time. That first touch will always be theirs💗 I tried to describe intimacy in the most realistic way rather than romanticising it like any other person would. If you could relate to this prose poem, share it with your friends and loved ones

This speaks with a genuine feeling of love, respecting not only the adoration of another and their importance, but more so celebrating the simplistic beauty of the earthly completed love, that not too many are lucky enough to ever find. Beautifully written!!
