Mourning

PaperFlowerFields

Mourning, Dear?
That's with a " u"
Some jokes work best on pages
Many ideas, best in stages
Stanzas crossing paper
Pens writing best
Only when others need the words

Everyone, beautiful in black
Everyone, strong as they can stand to be
Like coffee, dripping in a pot
Making the air hot
Unbearable

It burns
But you don't have to have
Everything
Sorted out right now

If I may make a request
1 final thing you can do for me
If you wouldn't mind
And it's not to much trouble
Please, don't grieve for me

Miss me, yes
You're free to do
And remember me
As well as you can
But don't drag your feet
I love you all too much
To see you hurting like this
Not like this
Not over me

I'm not even gone, You know
Not even close
You've got memories, haven't you?
So think of me

Each time you watch squirrels play
When you're lonely
Except the bird's chirps
When you sit quietly in a window
And you watch the sun roll by
Like a great marble though the sky
I'm there, too
Sitting with you

Tears are too precious to lose
Like crystals
Gems roll down your cheeks
Don't lose them here
Save them
I won't go anywhere
I promise you that

As long as you think of me
I'll be here
Always

When you spot flowers so delicate
The petals drift on the breeze
Teddy bears so soft
They need held

When leaves change to a blaze
And your mind is a haze
Emotions threaten to explode
Your eyes betray you
When your mouth says "I'm fine"
Come to me
In your thoughts
Your heart
I invite you
I insist!

A deep breath
And a cup of coffee
Sit, here, in the comfy chair
I'll take the seat next to you
You won't see me
But you'll know I'm there
With each sip you take
I'll listen while you hurt
Talk you through
With silent words

No mourning, love
Just keep me safe
Here, In your heart

No aching
No breaking
No tears
No fears

Just squirrels playing in sunlight

Memories held tight
Long talks at midnight
Black coffee
Faith, and trust
And love with every gust
Of wind that passes by you
Thoughts and hearts, true

If you hold on to memory
Love will be your always

Absolutely phenomenal! Too easy is it to let grief consume you after a loss, but nothing helps to heal those wounds like remembering love!
