LADY AT THE WINDOW

nephilim56

Is it silence to bite
Or loneliness in waves
Dark eyes still sixteen.
The boy who never showed.

The years inbetween
Laughter and tears
Wine glass in your hand
The dim light behind you.

Velvet drapes touch
Through glass heartbeats to ponder
To the poet in the street
A ragged frame dressed in wonder.

His eyes fixed upon
Poetry kissed by light rain
Your dark eyes still sixteen
Suspended refrain.
