Favorite Colour

Mr. Not

My first favorite colour was pink. All the other girls really liked it and I didn't want to stand out
Then I chose purple. The other girls had that as second and pink just didn't feel like me
I found out the other girls liked other colours, like green and red. I chose turquoise
Later I found charm in darker colours, calmer, those that didn't pop. Navy blue
And then I liked green. I liked the way it matched my surroundings. The grass, the trees, all the various little plants
I liked how yellow popped, reminding me of dandilions in the spring
I liked how orange calmed me, reminding me of my favorite fruit
How red looked as it trickled down my fingertips and splashed onto the floor and soaked into the wood
How black looked like the darkest winter nights and how white reflected the moonlight
