Idalia, Depredation Achieved

Eugene S.

Intimacy was your intended goal
Drowning, drowning, screaming soul
All of the past must surely go
Lost, lost to an endless flow
Into the sea, you send it whole
All will know, all will know the costly toll

    thank you dear poet
    I read your relatable poetry
    and was inspired to pen
    a feeble reply
(a promise of better in a smile as you arrive
    now your shadow
is that middle finger stuck in my throat..
like a gust of wind, you swept
    through my pulsing heart
while I was just too busy, trying
    to blink past life's dust..
    deuces, yeah you injured me
    but i'll heal
    go looking for less poisonous
    fish, in that
    plentiful sea!
    lol)
