Never Lasting

E Naughton

The loss of others

Experienced blindly

By those who remain in the unknown

The unknown joys

Of simple scents that linger loosely in the air

Like a lasting sound

It must too dissipate into silence

The loud lasting truth

All things must pass

The unknown last time

Leaving one lost

Undivided attention now sitting on a wishful thought

Had there been but a hint

A clue of the never lasting truth

Of forever change was always here
