Gospel Graces

orchidee

Tune: Lyons

('Ye servants of God.....')

Colossians 1 v.25-29

*******

We ministers, stewards of the gospel

Give us grace, O Lord, to go forth, to tell

Of your salvation, mystery now revealed

Hid from past ages, but is now unconcealed

It a hidden truth, a secret not known

But now to mankind, to all peoples shown

We may come believing, accept of the word

Praying all may hear it as those who have heard

God would make known what the riches sure be

Of the glory of this here mystery

To Jews and to Gentiles, it be Christ in you

The hope of glory to each believer true

There be preaching, warning, admonishing

And teaching in wisdom in every thing

To present each person in Christ perfectly

Labour on in God's power, work fervently

Thanks N. Now I want no excuses from folk for not singing this one - in the guided video! lol.
You met Grace? What's her surname?

Good write Orchi. I love mysteries but haven't the grace to understand them. A beautiful write none the less.

Thanks SB. Well, it's a 'mystery' meaning an 'open secret' - maybe 'a mystery that was'.

You had my hands up in the worshipin’ way! I am grateful for that O!

            • orchidee

Thanks P. I'm not too keen on 'happy-clappy' myself. lol.

I didn't know this came with a sing-along surprise. I tried, but couldn't quite the tune down with the words. Nonetheless, a very nice write!

Thanks Bella. I can't find anything that says 'sounds like... '[another well-known hymn to the same tune']. It fits to 'O praise ye the Lord' too [Tune name: Laudate Dominum'].

                  Unfortunately don't know that one.
