African Race

Sakwa Franc

One thing must I do dear me

To quench my pride and cool my feet

For I have set my face as a flint

To run this race

It's  African race

Like Waters of River Nile

So is like my blood flowing in my dark skin

The change I desire

The visions I see

Tis too is African race

It's a spark that ignites fire

Warmth of African loins where life resides

It's not a race of warships

Nor a convoy of rockets to the space

It's a race of purity and serenity on our land

Not by a mistake not by a luck

It's by a divine order of My Maker

To set my right foot on starting block

A heartbeat! Du!Du!Du!

Encryption of my heart: You win we win.

    beautiful! dear Poet
    I share your desire:
'To quench my pride and cool my feet
For I have set my face as a flint
    To run this race
    It's African race

    Like Waters of River Nile
So is like my blood flowing in my dark skin
    The change I desire
    The visions I see'
