I've seen some truly wondrous sights
Total eclipse the northern lights
I've held a hatching turtle in my hand
A rare blue moon and one blood red
Creatures upon an ocean bed
A mother nurse her newborn baby lamb
I witnessed this magnificence
Pale into insignificance
And all she had to do was flash a smile
She looked me in the eye and said
I'm not expecting us to wed
But let's indulge each other for a while
By the arm I was taken
A feeling of bliss
In my head
Was a loosening vice
In her arms I was given
A velvety kiss
She had led me
Into paradise

You provided the material - I had the fantasy.
I found that reading this poem aloud gave it a whole new dimension. Speak it quickly and feel its intensity. Speak it slowly and savour every nuance of its beauty. Stunning!
I find your comments give it a whole new dimension

'I witnessed this magnificence
Pale into insignificance'
To have such a deep love and reverence for a person is so beautiful, yet incredibly difficult I imagine. Your poetry always describes the visceral dichotomy so incredibly. Sometimes discreetly sometimes raw, all times brilliant!
