New leaf

Natalie Heisey

In my soul, our love's flame did ignite,
But all of your actions, have caused tears with  endless nights through my heartache, I've held onto hope,That you'll see the pain you've caused me and then help me cope.

my love, please just hear my plea and
Stop making my heart bleed if you don't want me just set my spirit free. For in your hands, lies the power to heal,To mend our wounds, to make our love feel real.

Let kindness guide you, let empathy bloom,In the choices you make, it will all gloom. For our love is a gift, its not meant to be torn,But cherished and nurtured, like a rose and a  thorn.

I need to know if you stand with me, to plant a new seed and start a new leaf with memories. To mend our broken hearts and start fresh and leave behind those who are against us.

Remember we deserve love that's true,
A love that uplifts and cherishes us
If you can't see our worth, it's time to let go,For a heart that breaks us is not meant to grow.

My comments on the poem "New leaf” by Natalie Heisey
The suffering comes through in this intense poem. The poetess pleads for her sufferings to be brought to an end. We will note the words “tears,” “endless nights,” “heartache,” “heart bleed.” There is a plea to save the love from ending. Words of hope for the future : “new seed,” new leaf,” “mend,” “start fresh.” Finally, we see the stage where the poetess sees that perhaps all is over : “it is time to let go.”
“For a heart that breaks us is not meant to grow” A philosophical ending for the poem, a realization that it is futile to hold on to something that will not work out.
