Forest Of Fantasy

The forest of fantasy 

Caught the fire of truth

Down came the daydreams

And thoughts of eternal youth

 

The trees of infinity

Came to their finite end

The vines of false hope 

Were now dead

 

The blue sky of tomorrow

Turned to the gray of today

As reality settled in 

The forest burnt away

 

I plant another forest 

As I sit here today

Knowing It will burn down

Again someday
