Expectations

Sail

I’d rather not expect and not get

Than expect and find wanting

I’d rather slow dance myself

Than wait for support to never show

I find it funny - both you and me

How you can be so different

With me and with anyone else

The ever so perfect, the ever so kind

The ever so - can never say no

A perfect little pushover

You must be metamorphic because where the fuck is she?

Then you turn around and it’s all about me

I don’t give you a chance

I don’t let you

Do what? Support me? I don’t

Because I don’t keep grudges

I see a pattern

The truth is you are inconsistent

I’d rather not expect and not get

Than expect and find wanting

I’d rather slow dance myself

Than wait for you to never show
