- x - What Would You Do ? -x-

Maxine Smith

Your soul mate awaits with desperate eyes
Your fifty year spouse whom never leaves your side
Your infatuated crush that fills your voided space
A true love that no one ever could replace
You have one date left
Tell me without fear or doubt
What ever you two do
You better make it count

I’ll count the ways for this occasion
I’ll bare and cry, for your attention
We’ll fly to private destinations
We’ll enmesh and it comes to fruition
One soul, our home, our destination
We lay here, for predestination.

She invited me, though she held my fascination , I thought her out of reach
Lunch everyday fostered envy
from many thinking why him not me
pumped me to a strengthened stride adjoining gaits, effort with her graceful stride, all this all looks all those who’d replace me, my conquered Near fated clear forever zoned platonically.
Then April 6th, 1979 12:52 pm friendly cocktails my last day at that employ
Her invite for goodbyes was extra joy
She actually shared a question with me,
Robert, you ever thought of going to bed with me ? The place the time the date forever burned and for underdogs a LESSON LEARNED

We could steal a broken down truck
Drive deep in the woods till our tires become stuck
Dive into the back with our old raggedy quilt
Red wine stains from where we previously spilt
Breathing in each others scent
Oh the musical rain from the skies are sent
Do we dare to strip entirely bare
Souls entwined our love rises in the air

She invited me, though she held my fascination , I thought her out of reach
Lunch everyday fostered envy
from many thinking why him not me
pumped me to a strengthened stride adjoining gaits, effort with her graceful stride, all this all looks all those who’d replace me, my conquered Near fated clear forever zoned platonically.

If I had one date,
with the one for me,
I would tell her every truth,
so she could see,
what kind of person,
I would be.
I would not waste her time,
when I barely have a dime,
but if she wants to stay with me,
that would also be fine.
So that is my something special;
my not too special date.
Still it is important,
if I love that person,
to tell them everything,
and not to wait.

That day came
All I did was ask her out,
Out for a cup of coffee.
Since that day
We have never been apart,
A love grew,
Grew within moments,
A love so strong,
So Strong that we just don't understand,
Understand how it can ,
How it can be so strong,
But strong it is
And it will never waiver.
We love each other.

I would fly us to whatever time zone in the world
would insure we could extend this one day
in-to as many hours as possible
even if it bankrupts me to do so
and then, on the flights
we would be entwined in each other's seats
I would cling to everything, from her lips
to the very essence of her atoms
with everything I had to give and through it all
smiling, rejoicing, celebrating
it was me, she chose
to keep by her side till the end
loving wholeheartedly, so as to leave
no room for regrets

Underneath the starry night's embrace,
We'll dance like time is but a fleeting trace,
Hand in hand, hearts in sync, we'll sway,
In this moment, forever and a day,
Our love's light will never fade or dim,
For this one date, we'll treasure within.

What would we do,my husband and I,
We would put all of our worries behind,
If only for just one day,
Just let loose and be free in every way,
We would go for a nice walk holding hands,
Just him and his woman and me and my man,
We would walk to a nice place to have a bite,
Eating our favorite things enjoying our night,
Maybe go for a milkshake at the top of the hill,
Having a sweet treat and drinking our fill,
Pumpkin spice for me, and vanilla for him,
Swapping halfway through while the sky is going dim,
Watching the stars pop out one by one,
In his arms I will be with the setting of the sun,
We will stroll home slowly, savoring the night,
Unwilling for it to end to start the next day fight,
Laying in each other's arms as we fall into a nice rest,
Dreaming of our time together that will always and forever be the best

Everything gets tangled up in the journey of long feelings.
Images that could be mine :
    ''our soul,our home, our destination
we lay here for predestination .
A deep and prolific poetic spirit !
