Long Lost Smile

illusions

Once a Genuine Smile

Turning into a Dreadful one

What might be the Reason

Going through Her conception

Driving herself to the Cruel World

Letting her Drown into an unknown mess

Overwhelmed feelings

Have Deepen into the Soul

The Tears won't make it

To  come out of the Zone

What's this Feeling

When will it End

No one has got the answer

To  make her Soul at ease

Never know when

The once Genuine Smile

Will take it's Pace

To be the Self

When once was Embraced

Just Hoping

For that One day to come

Again as if

Everything will be Done

To be the one

When she used to be Fun

  • Comment from author about the poem: I wrote this poem when everything around me was falling apart . There was no hope to walk on. The downfall period was long enough that I completely forgot what enjoying the life was. This poem carries a memory of my heavy days and I was still standing. This is my first time on this website. Please read my poems and comment whatever you feel about it. I welcome all of your thoughts and comments.

My comments on the poem "Long lost smile” by illusions
The poetess asks herself the reason for her change from a smiling mood to a negative one. The words “driving herself” might imply that the poetess herself is responsible for the situation. Note the words “cruel world.” Thus, she must have been facing obstacles for some time. Crying does not seem to help. She is clearly seeking a solution for the problem. “When will it end” : she wants the misery to end. She points out that she was jovial in the past. She ends with an optimistic wish that all will work out for the better.
Do keep up your spirits, friend. Best wishes. Keep posting on this site. Soman Ragavan. 10 September, 2023. Website : www.somanragavan.org //
