Knowing I Saw Enough

Teddy.15

Eyes so tired

eyes so tired

of seeing the same waste

every day

day in day out

these eyes ache to see more

something different

something new

something of pleasure

nothing of blue

but I am afraid

I am so afraid

that these eyes will fall asleep

one night, for the very last time

never to see the bright

they so long to see

I want to die with a smile

I want to die

knowing I saw enough.

it's all about quality, dear Poetess
            accrue more quality that quantity
and this wish of yours will be granted
            way before that final curtain
            comes calling...
            (and what a striking image)
hope you n yours have a lovely week

My dear Mek, it's a wonder when all I see is bad news but it's also my job as a poet to question it, a soft walk because I am uncomfortable writing about that famous curtain lol 🤣 thank you my beautiful friend.

A wish or desire, rather, for the masses, to be fulfilled before their passing. A poignant, thought provoking write!
