If Only

Alex PB

Notice of absence from Alex PB
Writin' more and more poems is my job,
I shall write when Shakespeare is back.

If only the shadows of an unforgiving realm could awaken,

If only the intruding idea of having a thought could be chosen,

If only minutes that feel like hours could be removed,

If only words didn't shoot through hearts we thought were bullet proof,

If only the broken heart had a chance to breathe again,

If only the mind had a rest after living in spite,

If only the shadows of thoughts came to light,

If only the intruding idea came forth after staying in fright..

If only the alcohol tasted more bitter,

To the point it didn't make us forget about strife,

If only the food was more poisonous,

If only my dream was allowed to be come alive,

To the point nothing stood in its way,

If only they saw the pain, tears, and anger,

That was caused by people with malice,

Then they'd realise the nightmare I was living through,

And they'd visit me more, "we know you".
