There he goes, in old timey strut,
where dullards call him “society slut”,
as the many who all look alike,
in judgement make a stale spike,
believing the numbers can make a ban,
of the unique wonder called hat-man!
Both with impact, and practicality,
he dons milliner’s variety,
street urchins; so brash; say “he’s so weird!”
For nesting a blue tit, in his beard,
but he so proud, brushes off their scan,
to remain the defiant, one hat-man!
Indoors, and at any graveside,
he continues to wear, his cap with pride,
then the flock flares up, his “disrespect”,
ignoring his tears, that do reflect,
to tell a crowd’s habits, to kick the can,
thus, let him be, a true hat-man!
Surrounded by them, he needs his space,
from claustrophobic human race,
who by their deeds, spray dishonour,
perhaps fedora could be his cover,
protecting him, from a shoddy plan,
this oh so scaredy, sad hat-man!

- Comment from author about the poem: It would seem that even today, uniqueness is still harshly judged by the multitude, though, in some places is getting much better, but, there will still be an underlying prejudice of something, or someone who is not complying to the norm. Nevertheless, in a time, where pride of identity is focused on, you, whoever you choose to be, stand the way you've always stood, and remain a person, and not just another number. I myself, at the moment, by my natural humility, have a "wizard in town/immortal drunkard" sort of look, and thus, I'm proud to call myself a hat-man. There are many reasons why people look the way they do, but they should never be judged, but sadly, as long as mankind exists, there will always be some sort of division to contend with, but I use the word "contend" very emphatically, as you have the right to be you. Accompanying the poem is a picture, of the two main hats that I alternately wear, one of which, is the hat featured in my profile picture, which I have somewhat customised. I hope that you enjoy the poem, be proud of you, and as always, please do stay everyone.

I tip my cap to Hat-Man, and his beautiful Fedoras. Perhaps people feel a little threatened by someone who does not fit the common mold, or who bucks the conformity that was instilled in us from childhood. Without the nonconformists it would be a very dull, boring, colorless world. Great Write!
Thanks for the read Bella, and for your tipping of your proverbial hat, and also for the compliments on my "titfers" in the picture.
I wholeheartedly agree with what you've said above, in particular the comment about the ardent need for nonconformists.
Thanks again, and I hope that all is well.
