THE STREETS

nephilim56

The broken Lambrini bottle
Blood drops lead away
Theres a sense of hopelessness
For tomorrow another day.

Whats the use of school
Training courses or other crap
We are where we are again
Each road takes us back.

The used condom in the park
They said sex was all grown up
A 14 years old becomes a mother
Wish the child the best of luck,

Foodbank numbers rise
Wages kept too low
Seventy hours work a week
What have you got to show.

Jasons dad the specialist says
Can never work again
But the Tories disagree
They say he can be retrained.

Austerity for us the peasants
Multimillionaires rub their hands in glee
In our dispair and poverty
More money for them you see.

The ‘class war’ , some would argue, is dead.
BS. It’s just that the underclass have not yet realised that they are the working parts of an economy which advantages the rich and powerful over the rest of us.
Keep at it – until vast disparities in wealth are addressed (hopefully not too violently) it will be forever thus.
A write from you I as usual enjoyed.
