STRANGER

juxtblessed

They say that love is blind,

But no one said that it robs one of their senses,

Staring at your true self from afar,

Like a fog cleared in my mind,

All the pieces slowly gathered to form the real picture,

Of what I thought would be my forever.

Forging an emotionless front,

As those who warned me off you,

Smirk knowingly as I passed as dejected,

Fighting off the maybes and what its,

Closing my tear-brimmed eyes,

As I wistfully think of how this would have turned off different.

In the end,I am not remorseful that I gave you a chance,

I do not regret all the memories we had together,

I am just sorry I had to end like this,

Turns out the person I thought you were was nothing but a flake,

I suppose fate pulled its strings,

And we became so discordant,

Nothing but strangers with memories.

  • Comment from author about the poem: This poem was written in a dark moment of my life when all the friendships I thought would last just broke and ended so fast that I just sunk in a fit of darkness. What are your thoughts?
