Forbidden Love

stephwrites

Apples aren’t meant for people like me

They’re forbidden for those who go by she

They’re meant for those who go by he

I promised myself that I wouldn’t take a bite

I’ve been told all my life that this isn’t right

I promised myself that I would refrain

But it seemed impossible to not give in

Like a drought desperately needing the rain

The longer I stayed, the more I craved

I felt the blood pumping through my veins

The sweetest looking fruit I’ve ever seen

I couldn’t help myself no matter how hard I tried

One little bite and my hunger was satisfied

The sweet apple pursed against my lips

I continued to eat the apple, not caring about the pips

Not caring about the juice dripping down my face

This is forbidden

But oh, how I love the taste

Entrapped in her warm embrace

I couldn’t let this apple go to waste

Quite a symbolic and most provocative write. Exudes imagery!

Have you just confessed that you are responsible for climate change and all the other troubles that inflict the world?😀
