Ghost

Elle H

Unfinished business leads me to you.

Alone like me.

In a peaceful sleep.

A cold chill fills the air,

I just think it’s all unfair.

Your stunning body full of life.

Your chest rises and falls,

mine’s stagnant.

But our hearts both beat,

even if mine is only for you.

The life we both had,

gone in a flash,

memorise now distant past.

I’m still here though

like a dusty picture.

As the sun rises, I watch you.

Wake.

I wish you could see me again.

I will never leave your side even if you can’t feel me, or see me,

a chill fills your body as I reach out my hand.
