Gone

Christophe Amarsingh

One day you were here,
we were okay, we were
happy, or so I thought

One day you were gone,
I don't know why, for you
haven't texted nor replied

The next day I started missing you
I didn't know what to do,
wondering if you were somehow thinking of me too

The day after I started to worry,
looking at the news articles and hoping you weren't a story,
thinking that if I didn't see your name there,
that you would appear

Days go by and I found out it's all been a lie,
you were never thinking about me, nor were you truly by my side
I guess you forgot what you said, that you'd love me to the very end

It's the way that you left me, that hurt the most
not even a text nor a goodbye note.
