The World We Make

Aallffiee

What will our future generation see when they set their gaze outside their homes?

Will the air and land be polluted with a brown haze?

Will they struggle to breathe

As we have thieved them of their trees?

Will they see what once was green grass,

Now mud and cement, with soft land now all but a dream?

Will their water be all but brown mush, polluted with toxic chemicals and plastic waste?

Will they be anguished with anger and sadness from the world we put them in?

Will the thought of “we could have” be a burden in their souls,

Constantly tearing them apart from the inside with regret?

We have the chance now to save our children from a world of suffering

Their future depends on us,

So what will you do?

Will you be the one to save our planet?

Or will you choose to climb the ever growing social ladder,

Choosing fame and money over our home?

As the time our planet has continues to dwindle

You have the choice now so what will you pick?

Just remember once you choose it may be too late to re pick

Our minds are our limit so open them broadly

We need to stop saying someone will but not us

For if we all say that will anything really change?

We need to stop saying tomorrow will be the day

Or I will change tomorrow,

Tomorrow is not now and our planet needs saving today

Tomorrow may be to late so take action now

We need to stop picking money and economy over the place we call home

The actions we do now are to mainly benefit the cash we have,

Not the trash we make and constantly feed into our planet

We recycle to make profit and money

Not with the thought of our humble abode

Our home,

The place where we roam

And the place where we have grown

We can make profit by helping the planet,

Not only by making money

But by giving our kids a future worth living

The benefits of saving our planet drastically out way whatever negatives rot in our mind,

Eating our insides,

poisoning our brain

And shrinking our heart

Our earth is in pain

Our choices will stain the world we live in

We can stick together and take a stance

Together we have a chance

Our race is lying and our planet is dying

Do you want a future without suffering or one where hope seems all but lost

Do you want our kids to be able to run wild in deep forests,

To dive the deepest waters

To climb the highest mountains

To have endless possibilities,

Not ones limited by the actions we make today

We can give our future generations a happy future

Full of love and joy and celebrations

And commemorations, not hallucinations, of what we have done and what we will do

Not one with mass mourning of the planet we have killed

We will end up as murderers, convicted of killing the only place we know

And we will need to live with the consequences of our actions

Unless we change

Will we need to take refuge somewhere else?

Will the somewhat savage nature of humans have destroyed earth?

Will we have learned from our mistakes?

Or will we keep running from them?

Destroying planet after planet after planet

Until we have nowhere else to go

Continuously trying to escape the fate that us and our mates have made,

As we consistently try to outrun the hate?

Will we always need to run,

Despite tiredness and regret always following behind us

Or will you start today to change the way our children will need to live

We can't predict the future but we can protect it

We are caged in our minds,

Like our planet is caged in pain

And we can help it escape

There is endless things our future will bring

If we give it the tools to do so

We can stop killing our home

And make sure its living for our kids

So what will you do?
