I never existed

Yuksel Inel

I'm a dream,

in reality, in dreams.

On the edge of a love, beyond a pain,

maybe in a lifetime!

In the fall of a leaf from a branch,

in the opening of flowers with spring...

I never existed,

maybe a memory, a story, a fairy tale.

In the shadow of the clouds, in the raindrops,

when the waves crash on the shore;

When a star slips, at night,

in a scream, in a whisper, in a breath.

A dream! Maybe a dream!

What is the fate of the raindrop?

in the unknown winds...

It falls from the cloud's embrace, uncertainly,

falls on roofs, pine trees, fields...

Then it disappears, maybe in a land, maybe in a sea,

in the smile of a flower, in the decay of a leaf,

maybe in the fall..
