With Eyes So Dim

houchins.linda

I do not know where this road leads
A leap of faith is what I need
O’er mountains steep, the journey’s long
Is this choice right? Is this choice wrong?

Once choosing’s done the ship will sail
What if I’m wrong? What if I fail?
Will this be the end of me?
I long for eyes with which to see.

I know not how this story ends
But I know the author, I will depend
I will put my trust in Him
And carry on with eyes so dim.

I love the message of this write and the rhyming scheme you incorporated into it. However, I had a stumble reading the last 2 lines and would like to offer these, "My trust in Him, it will reside
And carry on with eyes so wide." As this would leave me to believe your eyes and heart would be open to Him, more than dimmed. Just an offering from a fellow poet.

I like your suggestion. Is it okay for me to use it? How can I credit you?

No need to credit me. Please just consider it a gift

          Thank you, that's very kind.

Thank you again for your constructive suggestions. I appreciate it. I have decided to not use your words, but to work on it with your suggestions and find my own words. I want it to be true to my voice, and it felt weird changing it with someone else's. Thanks!
