You Must Begin To End

DesertWords

You have to start to finish.
You must begin to end.
Only a fool or a lazy man
expects a reward, but never began.

Nothing comes on a platter of gold.
How many times have you been sold
a lie that sounded too good to be true,
something you instinctively knew
would never work and didn't?

A word of advice from a friend, if you will.
No result will come unless and until
you roll up your sleeves and give it a go,
pace yourself, start out slow.
And before you know it, you've made it through,
if you want it done, it's up to you.
How many times have I heard people say:
"Well, this is certainly not my lucky day."
Well, luck, my friend, is what you do,
from start to finish, seeing it through.
And that's because this saying is true:
You have to start to finish.
You must begin to end.

You eagerly teach all those who are willing to read. Lessons are welcomed when presented as such, with tact, rhythm and rhyme. Nicely penned!
