In rows along the path, several mugunghwa trees sway in the wind,
Blossoming their flowers in sync with the summer days, calling the people.
For ten thousand years, they've taken the roots in this land and people's mind,
For generations to come, may they continue to spread far and wide and ample!

You teach me something every day! We call it Altheia (Greek for "Truth") in my family, some call it Rose of Sharon or Hibiscus, of course. I did not know that the mugunghwa was the same tree... or that it was the state flower of Korea. Is there a color the Koreans favor as the state flower? We love them in Texas since they flower all summer when not much else does here when it is so hot!
Hi! Thank you for your kind comments and interesting to my poem. There're many kinds of Roses of Sharon, in Korea. Pink, white or yellow, etc. People are finding the new kinds of the mugunghwa. We have not special favor on the colors for the Sharon's Rose. In old classic said that the tree of white mugunghwas meant prosperous, and red mugunghwasa are bankrupcy. The old days may be the lumber of red Sharon's was used for coffin. Have a nice day! BR. Kinsley
