Add-On

AuburnScribbler

There ain’t nothing like an add-on,

either it be a side plate, to sate your palate,

or a plug-in, to make your six-string sound good,

there ain’t nothing like an add-on!

There ain’t nothing like an add-on,

where the incumbent won’t do, but a stand-in would,

ensure things got done, in your neighbourhood,

such as rotten tree, being felled in that lane,

no more worries, about a child or dog being slain,

there ain’t nothing like an add-on!

There ain’t nothing like an add-on,

where in deputising, in friendly warmth,

some magic blossoms, in making an extended family,

there ain’t nothing like an add-on!

There ain’t nothing like an add-on,

where humans build and wear, robotic wings,

to forget the flesh, to make modern sins,

as cash, not blood, is what truly flows,

in such amassing, what follows?

There ain’t nothing like an add-on!

There ain’t nothing like an add-on,

only if it helps, and reminds you of roots,

instead of just simple greed practicing it’s excess,

only then can you say, “there ain’t nothing like an add-on!”

  • Comment from author about the poem: There never seems to be enough for some people, but on the other hand, a little something extra in moderation, can be both useful and sweet. Nevertheless, the relentless greed, that has become a stalwart of decree in the way we operate, is at an all time high. Thus, when it comes to the core of our beings, humanity continues to re-label the true currency as being money, and not love, hence the results you see in the media, is the result of such a recycled malpractice on our half. I really do hope, that in time, we can stop our impending self-made apocalypse. I hope that you enjoy the poem, and out of curiosity what add-ons do you use/enjoy in your life? Obviously, I also hope that we can become agents of moderation, to make a better, safer world, and as always, please do stay safe everyone.
