December

Maxine Smith

Snow balanced perfect on leaves

Reflecting mirrors on frozen seas

Snowflakes fall so effortlessly

On the night that I come to you

Dazzling Christmas lights drape

Through houses they’ll stay on late

Illuminate’s our strolling date

On the night that I come to you

Inhale such crisp content Winters breeze

Hold hands with a tight territorial squeeze

Under mistletoe you kiss my nose to tease

This beautiful night will come true

The cadence falls as gently as the snowflakes, and kisses the reader on the nose so softly
