Not me

Yuksel Inel

I'm not the one looking in the mirrors;

night!... the image that hides in its shadow,

a trace lost in the secrets of mirrors.

Faces!...the glare of light is pale, desolate -and-

I'm the one who lost his face before the light was born.

It's not my face that's reflected!

unity in multiplicity, an unknown sea.

Within and beyond existence,

a void! a nothingness!, not me!.

A mirror, a series of reflections, an endless series...

Me, lost in the depths of mirrors,

someone who reflects on himself,

I am a shadow with no beginning and no end.

Mirrors! Many and nothing

a mirage! an illusion! a dream!

I'm not the one looking in the mirrors.
