Unrequited Love

Anne Frances

Take me back to the time, when you were all mine.

Untainted love, strong with all of its shine

Take me back to the days of sweet summer haze

Promises under the sun, day dreaming of when our lives would merge as one.

The first and only you were, sweet love of mine

Before we fell prey to the tests of time

I've never known a love so deep and strong for someone not my own

Never imagined distance would make the heart so worn

One step ahead is all it takes to bring back the spark

And solace to a heart filled with unrequited love

this reads beautifully as a plea to return to the love that once was. Absolutely beautiful.
