remembering why i fell in love with you

drea

when i remember

i remember i was just a girl when i met you

i knew nothing of being a woman

but when your hands touch my skin

and your lips brushed mine

a fire started in me

you were the match and your touch was the spark

you lit me up

God i was beautiful

you opened my eyes to show me my own beauty

and for that i fell deeper

deeper in the the ocean that is you

i could swim in you all day

your laugh felt almost like a song i had on repeat

Your arms felt like home

Strong and safe

warm and wrapped around me

You were my home

You made me want to be better

No one has ever broken down my walls

No one has seen the ugly

Bits and pieces maybe

But all of it? in it’s entirety?

No one has.

Except you

And you still stayed

and continue to stay.

You are here

But i can barely feel you anymore

The fire you started is merely the flame of a candle now

But you are still my home

Only I feel i can’t come home sometimes

and… your laugh is a tune i hear only on occasion now

and what i would give to just dip my toes in your waters again

I love you

but Im not so sure you still feel the same way any more
