The clock strikes twelve
And you invade my thoughts like a thief
I try to chase you away with logic
But your ghost haunts my senses
I measure the rhythm of my pain
Hoping to numb the ache
But each pulse echoes your name
And what I gave up for love's sake
You're a forbidden temptation
A string of numbers that lures me like a flame
I dare not ignite
We've burned ourselves before
You demanded I answer, an impossible choice
To divide my heart with Solomon's sword
You must of known I wouldn't do that
How could I choose to wound an innocent soul
I chose to shield my loyal love
The one who rescued me and made me forget
If only for a while
The one who is my champion and mended my broken wings
But I can't erase you either
The one who I loved first
The one who made me believe in magic and touched my soul
The one who stole my heart and who is impossible to forget
You asked me if I would regret my choice
Hell yes I will and yet I feign my answer is no
Did you believe me
Did you see through my lie
Tonight there will be
No victors, only vanquished
No joy, only grief
No peace, only regret
