That part of town

Doris Dale

a lot have changed since I left that part of town,

I'm a cherry blossom petal, lying in your backyard now.

I have nothing to compare,

I'm the wind that caress you hair.

I'm the dry leaf you step on,

I'm the one who's waiting for you at home.

Give me second to say that –

You're lying in my head

on all my written poems, on the reasons why I'm scared.

Stay with me until the morning, i will give you so much love,

and you don't have to worry, I will share with you my scarf.

You flow in my veins as if it always been so,

You're stuck in me like the city that I promised you to show.

And suddenly these streets became you,,

from every angle of the view.

  • Comment from author about the poem: I wrote that poem to my best friend who now lives in another country because of war. English is not my native language, so I'm really sorry for any mistakes.
