Adolescent Rapture

GeekSusie

In the hallways teeming with transient whispers,

Cloaked in curiosity, my eyes roam like drifters.

Girl to girl, heart to heart, lingering stares,

Cloaked in the shadows of adolescence, a tapestry of cares.

Tales told in glances, stolen in silence,

A secret love letter, seeping quiet defiance.

Lust for the forbidden, the unsaid, the unseen,

Hidden beneath the veneer of a teen.

Red lips beckon, soft smiles melt,

An unspoken truth, quietly felt.

The laughter of girls, echoing in my mind,

A sweet melody of love, clandestinely kind.

Fear tugs at my heart, a puppeteer of doubt,

What if my secret was found out?

An inkling of love, blossoming in spring,

Would they clip my wings, shatter my heart's ring?

But in the dusk of the night, I am unbound,

Dancing in dreams, where love is found.

Eyes meet, hands touch, hearts entwine,

In this hidden world, she is mine.

For love in all forms, is the deepest truth,

Etched in the soul, from our early youth.

This secret love, blooming in my heart's core,

Is a testament to love, now and evermore.

This read echoes the truth that teens, especially, feel they must hide, which is unfortunate. Love should not be hidden, regardless of the person for whom the love is offered. This reads smoothly and with great imagery, with the meaning becoming encapsulated in the last verse. Beautiful work!
