Cherry Blossom

It was many decades ago, in heaven

She was an angel that came down,

Packed her things and was raring to go,

With her angelic voice, serpent-like hair that slithers in the wind, her opal-colored eyes showing calmness and a sanctuary for the lost souls to rest at ease and open up.

It was the night of a crescent moon when I saw the angel that traveled from city to city saving the lost, challenged souls from the call of the void awaiting to devour them, the void that is patiently lurking in the deep puddles of shadow in the corner of one’s eye.

It was the night that guided us into this rabbit hole that everyone curses at, the thing that everyone both loves and despises, I fell in love- she fell in love, and we continued to grow and bloom.

Another decade has passed, and for I am a mere mortal I cannot be by your side forever, so I have laid down deep underground, lying next to the crawling critters, eyes closed, reminiscing the memories of the past moments that we shared together.

I will love you in another universe my love, for maybe we both are mortals or immortals in that universe.

We are the lovers that were meant to be, but time has declined.

Your poem moved me deeply. The love you describe is both ethereal and temporal, an inextricable blend of the human and the divine. It's a poignant reminder that love knows no boundaries—neither in form, nor in time. The sentiment of meeting in another universe resonates with me, for love like this doesn't just vanish, it transforms. Even though time may have "declined," the love remains as vibrant as that crescent moon that guided us. Thank you for capturing something so ephemeral yet everlasting. I, too, will hold onto the hope that in some other universe, we continue to grow and bloom, bound neither by mortality nor by time.
