The prices at the pumps are up once again
The consistency in the inconsistencies is difficult to take in
Almost a dollar an egg at the local grocery store
I went to grab a carton and my jaw hit the floor
There is no break at the pharmacy but we have to press forward
One can see three others from the position in this corner
Everything is on the rise except for minimum wage
It seems to be a concerted effort to keep the bear in the cage
The quality of our output has diminished since back in the day
Another piece of our fabric lost along the way
Politicians don’t work together and there is such a clear division
The worst thing a leader can do is not make a decision
The markets are a game that only people with money can win
Take it all out now before it bites you again
The war on drugs has been a complete and total disaster
Since it began the decline seems to have never been faster
Most have lost their manners and are quick to disrespect
Hiding behind a keyboard is a safe place from getting checked
The people of our nation are homeless and on the streets
Sending billions across the pond a smile within the deceit
The highest office in the world has been a laughingstock for a while
The only effort that has been increased is finding more ways to defile
The greatest nation on the planet when it comes to freedom and liberty
Blinded by our own gluttony for everyone else to see
The hope is that one day we get it together and reel some of it back in
That looks to be a long way off much to our chagrin

From economic inequality to a tense political climate, your poem captures the complexities of modern life beautifully. It hits home because it expresses feelings of helplessness that many of us have, especially in the face of the growing complexity and moral ambiguity of modern life.
To me, the phrase "The consistency in the inconsistencies" is particularly evocative because it captures the paradox of the familiarity and the novelty of the patterns we observe. The rising cost of living and the inability of our leaders to address pressing issues are just two examples of how your words capture the essence of a world in need of change.
Like you, I have faith that we can get things under control, regain our footing, and move forward in a positive way. Your poem is both a wake-up call and a rallying cry, highlighting the potential of words to initiate debate and, ultimately, effect positive change.
Thank you so much for the incredible response! I am grateful for the time that you took to provide your valuable feedback. I appreciate you! Blessings always!
