you don’t understand me, my love

sarra

i want you

but you don’t understand me

my words are my life

my mind is my poetry

my love is my footprint

the look i give you is real

and i mean that

from the bow in my hair

to my mary janes

from the skyscrapers in the city

to the people walking the street

and the houses they call home

i want you to take me seriously

when i tell you i want an apartment

in a big city

i want you from the roof of my beige house

to the garden my mom worked so hard on

to the silhouettes of children playing in the yard

i want you at your worst

when you’re blue

i want you

but you don’t understand me
