Bribery and Lies.

David Wakeling

Tell the children if they don’t behave,
They will be punished.
Give them pocket money to clean the yard,

Tell the children to be quiet at school,
Or they will fail and let the family down,
Give them a diploma at the end.

Pay the Workers minimum wage,
To keep them on the job.
Fire them if they take time off.

Use Love to get your husband
to buy you a house.
Ignore him once you have the house.

Pray to Jesus or he will not save you,
All you have to do is believe,
And eternity is yours.

Search for freedom all your life,
Knowing it will be denied you.
For all is bribery, all is lies.

We posture as a plan. We count on a gentle judge as the stakes are high so we construct some kind of plan. You paint such a real aspect of life and it awakens.

Sounds like the family I grew up in, but I made sure that the family I made was far away from this emotional guilt.. it was traumatic for me... But at some point I had to snap out of the ideas proposed to me by those who call themselves my parents.. I developed boundaries and in turn got their respect through what they called rebelliousness, that which I call breaking the curse..
    I really liked this
