I am all alone in the wilderness
Alone in the desert
I am lost in my weakness
Tempted by my fears
My head is too weak to look up to you
My feet to heavy to walk into your light
I am not worthy to be in your presence
As my sins weigh me down
And yet I pray for your help
I pray for you to lift me up and carry me
Though I am a worthless fool
Dare I ask for forgiveness?
Do I warrant such a reprieve
All I have done was for my own
Selfish pride
My depravity has led me to this end
And yet I pray for your mercy
I have been blinded by my greed
Earthly desire is all that I have sought
This heart of stone chokes in my throat
And tears that I shed are dry to the touch
I am nothing but empty and cracked clay
A false image of what I should have been
And yet I pray to you for forgiveness Lord
And through it all
Through every wrong doing
You take my hands and lift me up
You embrace me as your own child
And hold me gently
You tell me everything is alright and that I am loved
And upon hearing these words
My heart of stone becomes a heart of flesh
My sins are washed away
And my sight restored
All thanks to your love, your grace and your mercy
There is no one else but you my Lord
You gave me life
And I will give it back to you
All that I am is yours forever
All that I am is yours forever
