The Stop Sign

taylor_rhea

I seen a stop sign today and it said stop means stop. I stared and I wonder why do so many people listen to stop means stop but they don’t listen to no means no. I sat and wondered for the longest time and I realized that maybe this world really is stone cold. How can you listen to a sign but can’t listen to someone screaming and crying to get away from them. It doesn’t make sense to me, how can one be so blind as to ignore the words stop when it comes out of someone’s mouth but when it says it in bold letter on a sign it’s different? The words no do not mean anything to some people, when you say these words it changes nothing. How could one bring some much pain to another for just a short time of pleasure, how could you break another and make them feel worthless just for you own enjoyment. I stare into the darkness and I get lost in my thoughts. You can hit scream punch kick but it will still not be enough, you can say the words no but they will shut you out and ignore. But they do not ignore stop signs? You ignore a stop sign you get in trouble with the police but when you ignore someone telling you no, you get to go home and lay in your bed after your done? After your done taking someone’s pride and soul from them you get to continue life like nothing happened. Why is it that so many people have been ignored when saying these words, screaming at the top of their lungs hoping someone will come save them but nothing gets done. The person walks free and is happy with what they have just done, they just ruined a life and are happy about it. I seen a stop sign today and it said stop means stop. I stared and I wondered why people listen to that and not no means no. Maybe the world is really stone cold.
