Here’s a piece of paper

sighing with a emptiness 

In shades of white 

this piece of paper only knows one colour resting with her at all times and often it feels like 

she’s just somewhere where words can land when they wish 

kind words can fall before her 

saddened sighs from another can find their way onto her skin 

a piece of paper 

white and lacking a voice of her own 

sighs , waiting for that voice from another 

those words to land with her 

blue balanced words 

hopefully to brighten a day 

and words of kindness help 

soft gentle notes 

she never wishes for words that cause a sigh to stir in her mind 

and to think that words can make you smile 

words can cause a sigh 

means her place as a piece of paper can be filled with balance soft smiles 

blues and kind notes 

sometimes sad notes 

words and the way others are 

sometimes just gets to her 

saddens her soft cloudy essence 

and this piece of paper doesn’t understand the sadness stepping on her skin 

causing a sigh to stir 

and she doesn’t understand the lack of words sometimes 

the way sometimes others can appear distant 

keeping their voice afar 

a piece of paper sighs 

or is complete with all those words she’s ever needed 

and all those words she wants 

the only thing she wishes for is a voice of her own 

and maybe one day she can become the pen
