Anxiety Untold

Shavon Harrington

As worry and stress consume the air, constantly pulling at me.

Nervous thoughts take over my mind, dancing with a frenetic beat.

Tying knots in my stomach, a relentless feat.

Breathing becomes shallow as my heart starts to race.

Anxiety tightens its grip, leaving traces of deceit.

The world becomes heavy, a burden to bear, as worries and stress consume the air.

Each decision feels daunting, each step unsure. Anxiety's grip on life is hard to endure.

    indeed,
    Auden labelled modernity
as the 'age of anxiety' for a reason..
    'stay' strong!
    thank you for sharing
    such a relatable read

Very good to write about this topic and get it out in the open....this is very relatable to me. I suffer from panic disorder. I hope you continue to write. Great job!
