Lost Cat

coffeecatsbliss

Where shall I start?
Where should I be?
We've grown apart.
How can this be?

Thought you'll be there,
but i couldn't see.
Tired, burdened, you were
before you left me.

How can I blame you?
I'm sick of me too.
Well I'm quite surprised
How much I'm despised.

If you'd only hate me,
Why would you have me?
If you'd just leave,
Why make-believe?

Should I be grateful?
For the memories left.
Sure, some are painful
But they never left.

  • Comment from author about the poem: I wrote this poem about someone who I thought would always stay but chose to leave. Someone who's a big part of who I am and had guided me all my life. Then one day, that person changed.
