It's funny how you just find things.
I lost what I thought my great love was.
Only to find out what great love means.
Every penny we picked
led us to each other.
Who could've thought
that my love hiatus,
Would end in something
that every romantic sought.
I stood there in the pouring rain.
As the wide-eyed frog gawked in vain
As you mustered up your courage
To set ablaze a twin flame
No rain could ever tame.
We stood there in the train station
beneath the yellow umbrella,
As the drizzle sounds filled the silence
And the petrichor swept us away.
We had both found something,
No one has ever had.
It's funny how you just find things.

- Comment from author about the poem: This is the first poem I've ever written - inspired by the Ted and Tracy love story from the TV show How I Met Your Mother. The whole show is about Ted's perspective of the story. This is my idea of Tracy looking back at the night she met Ted.

(a wonderful read, thanks for sharing)
it just takes a second
a look-back - glimpse
a meeting of eyes
a tender brush of lips
and every frog
is left feeling like a prince
ready to worship, his Queen..
(ermm
or a King
or a Queen and a Queen
or erm
a King and a King
and erm whatever
pond combination
I might have missed
in between..)
lol
(covering my basis, never
I am not petrified of the PC
tyranny.. not very, at least..)
