Embracing thoughts of tonight's dreamless sleep
The room is now so cold
Without you there's no light
No tranquility to be found
Memories flood my rotting mind
Your laugh as sweet as daisies
Your smile warm like a mothers embrace
Why can't I be at peace
Knowing your gone pains me
Reminds me of the summer
The first time you left me behind
Yet, I had you back by August
You don't listen
You take what you want
And leave me to rot
My face is pale
And yours stayed rosy
I see you're in a new city
And once again I'm left behind
But who am I to blame you
You are your mothers child
She drove you mad and so you left

- Comment from author about the poem: I wrote this poem for a creative writing course I am taking this semester. Which I obviously shared with a close friend of mine, she absolute loved it. And so i decided to publish this piece.
