Quiet Yearnings

Carly

On nights like this when I’m alone

I yearn for you inside my phone

Where satisfaction is amiss

And can not yield potential bliss

I talk to you within my mind

Though quiet thoughts can never find

Connective states when we’re apart

That singe and tear my broken heart

When hands of time propel us on

I can’t deter the fact you’re gone

Envisioning the moments spent

Of truly just how much you meant

Where diamonds shine in pendants worn

I’ll preach to you how much I’m torn

For even when denying moulds

My grief is in those tucks and folds

Though lunar scapes expel the sun

My time on earth can not be done

Where suffering extends the key

Mutating all the dark in me

My life was altered at the turn

This desperation couldn’t learn

To free her hands and just let go

Of sadness and it’s deathly blow

On nights like this I will erase

The detriment of lonely phase

That can not bend to quite approve

Determination if I move…

An incredibly beautiful and rhymeful poem, you held her hand until the end. Absolutely stunning and you should feel incredibly humbled to have been able to do it. I found myself right inside the imagery the pain and emotion equally felt. An absolutely beautiful piece of poetry. ❤️

This is a stunning piece of poetry, I was in awe of the imagery of your pain. It really has to be awful to be without the one you love. Just wonderful!!
