Cradle

Cradle

Beloved, be my land, the cradle of my ancestors

Eternal and forever

Your inexhaustible springs and your water from the karst

When drunk once of freedom like you drunk of that water

There are no shackles and chains strong enough

To darken freedom

Every blow turns into a defiant smile

Strike, strike.

I don’t shiver before anyone!

There is no force and calvary to force us to say no more

As long as there is blood in us

And as much as our soil can drink

Whenever I look at the sky, there is a falcon clicking

Golden eagle flying through our crags

The one that flies on our proud standard

Red as our blood

Flag bearers will fall like sheaves of wheat

Upright will stand our standard

Proudly and forever

Powerful voice about the love of freedom and the motherland. No matter where your country, May it stand tall, without more cost of blood.

Thank you for commenting on my poem
We are a very small nation. Our flag is just like I explained it in the poem
Our history is full of blood payments.
Men have fought bravely for freedom but our women saved the nation!
I'll come back to your poems. I think you have a lot of gold nuggets hidden in your poems. These I read by now I like very much.

I looked for the signs in your precious poem, but I don’t dare to guess out of respect. Thank you for visiting my poems, as well.
