Tune: Wir Pflugen
('We plough the fields and scatter')
1 Corinthians 9 v.6-11
********
God is able to make all
Grace abound to you, call
On Him, that you then always
Having through all your days
All sufficiency in all
Things, so abound, not fall
To every good work resourced
Enough, not strained nor forced
Chorus
Sparse sowing, sparse reaping
But if you in each thing
Sow generous, bountifully
Ample reaping shall be
As it is written, God He
Has dispersed abroad, see
He has given to the poot
He righteous remains sure
Now He that supplies seed to
The sower, so give too
Bred for food, and multiply
Seed sown, His presence nigh - Chorus
And that he too may increase
Fruits of rightness and peace
So you enriched in all things
Liberally shares, each brings
Their offerings, which causes
Praise, thanks to God no less
And sharing with fellow-men
We shall know blessings then - Chorus

- Comment from author about the poem: A hymn-poem - Verses in 7.6.7.6. 7.6.7.6. Chorus in 6.6.8.4. though last line of Chorus allows for 6 syllables to be fitted in, as I've done. I've always seen St Paul as fair and common-sense in giving - not greedy or demanding of people.

You ploughing and scattering there?!
Or reaping and sewing lol oh just pretend I've flown the co-op ❤️
Thanks Teddy. lol. I didn't get the hang of it. I never get any crops. Every year I scatter seeds first, then plough. Can't understand why nothing grows. doh!
So much better than sighing and weeping....
Yes - thanks CB.
We usually reap what we sow, not always is the same medium or way but in one way or another.
Thanks SB.
Oh' yes indeed, two of my all time favourite pastime's .. 😎👍
Thanks N. Erm, I got confused. I reaped before I sowed. Eh?
He who sows bountifully will reap bountifully, yes?
Thanks Bella - yes.
