Tune: Sandys
('Teach me, my God and King')
Mark 11 v.29-33
*******
Jesus to leaders said
'Answer me, how you read?
Was baptism of John of men
Or sent from heaven then?'
They midst themselves discussed
Said, 'Answer give we must'
But if we say, 'From heaven', He
Will say, 'Why you not agree?'
'You did not him believe
Not his message receive'
But if we say, 'Of men', they feared
People, they John revered
And counted him prophet
Indeed, his mission set
So they answered to Jesus, 'We
Cannot tell, here do see'
Jesus then did reply
And told them by and by
'Neither by what authority
I work, how my deeds be'

good old john eh ..
Yes, thanks N. This seems fair - if you won't tell me, I won't tell you'.
To listen and to question, forces thought, both of which we need. Good write Orchi!
Thanks Bella.
